Supreme Assembly 2010   updates

Supreme Assembly 2010
Omaha, Nebraska
With a side trip to
Mt. Rushmore

May 1, 2010

To all prospective Supreme Attendees –

The details are coming together for our wonderful Supreme Assembly trip in just a few short months. Are you going to join us this year?

Below are the details of our trip. There is a lot to see and do in a short time so you will stay busy for the entire trip.

Supreme Sessions attire – we will wear the 2009-2010 traveling fabric for our formal dress to all sessions.

Other attire – while at the Host Hotel during Supreme, we ALL must abide by the guidelines set forth by Supreme Assembly and that is slacks and shorts may NOT be worn at the hotel, the Convention Center or at any time during the Supreme Assembly sessions. Neat walking shorts or slacks may be worn only on initial arrival and when going to and from local activities. Short shorts are not to be worn at any time. We will wear our Supreme Polo, Nevada Polo or Nevada t-shirt with a khaki skirt when not in session and at the hotel. We are representing Rainbow wherever we go. Let’s leave a flawless impression on Omaha!

Supreme Identification Badges – every person attending ANY Supreme Sessions and all related Supreme Activities must be registered, wear the Identification badge provided at Supreme and present their 2010 dues card or parent card to be admitted.

Swaps – at Supreme each year the attendees have swaps that they swap with the other girls and /or adults for the other jurisdictions. Though not mandatory, it is a fun part of Supreme.

Ritual Competitions - The Nevada delegation may participate in the team competition depending on the amount of girls that attend. I also encourage each girl to participate in her age appropriate individual competition. Those wishing to participate in the individual competition must notify me ASAP, so that I can complete and submit the appropriate paperwork.

Medical Treatment and Transportation Authorization forms: Each girl AND adult MUST have the form signed and returned to me prior to departure on July 31. The adults must have the Medical Treatment form signed and returned to me prior to departure. This is a requirement of Supreme that these forms be completed.

Payments – So that Nevada Rainbow can pay our expenses for this trip it is necessary that all money for Supreme be paid by the following dates:

May 24th - $300.00
June 14th - $200.00
July 1st – balance owed

Congratulations to the New Grand Executive Committee Members

Nevada Grand Assembly has just announced that Mrs. Julie Buckman and Mrs. Deniece Campbell will be stepping into the Grand Executive Board.  Deniece has agreed to be our treasurer; Julie will no doubt be picking up other responsibilities.

In this re-organization, "terms" will be established for our members to serve which, of course, can be renewed upon our individual agreements.  These terms will be staggered at this point so that people will rotate off and on at specified times. Recycled Grocery/Shopping BagsNV Recycled Grocery/Shopping Bags

I have just the item for each of you! We all love the recycled grocery/shopping bags -- and NOW we have "Nevada" BLUE totes with our emblem and website printed in white.

I personally have 6-8 in my car at all times and usually remember to take them into stores with me. Or pack a few to go with necessary items when I am on the run for an appointment where I will have down time, to someone's house with stuff in it, a Rainbow service project, etc.

They are $5 each, with the proceeds going to our PR budget. Local assemblies can use these funds to buy the professional marketing materials from Supreme for recruiting purposes -- or whatever other opportunities we have to advertise our group. They are only available from me- with checks payable to NV Grand Assembly. IF the bags need to be mailed, please add $1 shipping fee per bag. Rainbow Girl Saves Lives

Wanted to share this with our Rainbow family.  The young lady that took down the shooter at the Fort Hood tragedy, Kimberly Barbour Munley, is a former member of Goldenrod Assembly No. 29 (now Wilmington Assembly No. 29).  She is a Past Worthy Advisor, a Past Grand Musician and member of the Grand Cross of Color. We are very proud of the courage that this young lady displayed to save so many lives and remember all the families in our daily prayers as they face the trying days ahead of them.

Kay Letterman,
Supreme Inspector, North Carolina

Greetings to Nevada Rainbow

I was Grand Worthy Advisor for Nevada in 1949-50. For many of you that may seem like the dark ages. As far as technology is concerned, it was. We didn’t have email or texting, even ‘snailmail’ was not used.  Nevertheless, the one thing that existed there was Rainbow Spirit.  As I traveled the state from Elko to Las Vegas or Ely to Reno, I met girls from different environments and with different ideas.  Each was an individual but all produced the same warm feelings and ideals of Rainbow.

Today, Rainbow is not as large as it was when I was an active participant. I guess I can relate that to the fact that there are so many, many more places to expend your productive time and energy. I do not believe that the warm feeling of Rainbow is any less than it was “back in the old days”.  You are the future of your area and state. It will be up to you to go out to the country and keep the course  even or in a better direction so the continuation of Rainbow and her ideas will not be lost.

Remember girls, you are Rainbow.  What you do and how you do it will reflect on the following generations of citizens where girls will play their equal parts in pointing the ways to how we will ultimately live together with and for each other.
